Assistant Park Director

Works closely with the Superintendent to develop programs and events for the Parks Department and has the ability to see them through to completion. Performs difficult skilled technical work managing and overseeing the park staff, planning and scheduling projects and programs, and managing aquatics staff and operations, reviewing,  addressing and responding to citizens questions and concerns, performing purchases including job bids and budgeting for the department and attending community meetings, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Parks Superintendent. The Assistant Director will be asked to develop plans for innovative opportunities in programing and funding; seeking grants, sponsorships, and private and public partnerships, coordinates programs and projects for the community.

Education and Experience: Moderate experience assisting with administration of parks department, self-motivated to complete tasks that are given to them, and working with donors, experience coordinating fundraisers and events. High School diploma required, college degree preferred.

Special Requirements

Valid driver’s license in the State of Indiana

Aquatic Pool Operator certification preferred

Salary: $1,889.40 per pay

The City offers insurance benefits, sick days, and 5 days vacation after 1 year
