A Health and Wellness Program for Our Community Age 50+

Overview

There are lots of ways to make a change in our community, and yet one single path to get there can seem challenging. Key factors to consider are county snapshots and health ranking when determining what program to offer. Knowing these key factors will allow us to know how the Parks Department can contribute to our community’s health involvement. Our goal is to facilitate a program that focuses on providing services to support the mental and physical health of individuals in our community over the age of 50. The program designed is a multifaceted program that will support this demographic age group all year long by providing fun, interactive activities that will promote mental and physical health.

  • 20.7% of our population is over the age of 65 with 49.5% of our population being veterans
  • By offering programs, events, and recreational activities for this demographic age group will show beneficial outcomes
